This place never disappoints! Their lattes, hot or iced, are always rich and delicious; the perfect thing to sip while you enjoy the outdoor seating or are shooting off to work. And their bagel sandwiches.....glorious!! Their lox and cream cheese are spot on, and their egg sandwiches are nothing short of de-lish! I got mine with bacon and swiss, but you have the option of sausage, ham, american, or cheddar as well. They do have a limited number of bagel flavors that diminishes over the course of the day, but never have I ever been stuck with a raisin bagel egg sandwich. They have cute desserts, as well, that I have yet to try, but boy do they look heavenly. I hear the donut muffin is to die for....maybe I'll take one home with me!

I just came in here for the first time a few days ago and was impressed immediately upon entering. It has a very unique charm to it. The bakery items looked delicious but I was more in a mood for a smoothie. I settled on a peach smoothie with an extra charge for protein powder, understandably. I'm used to other cafe's smoothies where they use ACTUAL fruit. I watched them add ice and a peach flavored sweetener to the blender..... That was it. For a smoothie that was close to $6 I expected some real substance.. Also I'm not sure what kind of protein powder was used but unless it is tasteless, it was left out of my smoothie. On the other hand though, it did taste good. I didn't have a great first visit but I will be happy to return to try other items on the menu.

We've been here twice, the first time for coffee and snacks and the second time on a Sunday for breakfast. They are a partial bakery with some stuff baked on-prem and other stuff brought in. My bagel was brought in from a place called Iggy's which I found out when I asked why they were in zip-lock bags. It was not fresh. I asked for turkey sausage, egg and cheese on a bagel and got bacon. My egg sat on the bench while they cooked the sausage so it was cold when I got it back. We ordered home fries and they didn't show so we asked and they said they would bring them over. They showed up after we were finished eating and they were underdone. The oatmeal and berries had 5 berries total. The chicken soup was bland but seemed home-made at least. Ingredients were nice, generous amounts of chicken, just not flavorful. Kind of watery tasting. The pop-overs were excellent with a nice cinnamon butter on the side. The spinach-feta croissant was also excellent. They have a great selection of loose tea which is nice. I've had the dark roast coffee twice and both times it was stale. They don't have a grill so they use "George Foreman" close-and-play type grills to cook the eggs. The bacon is cooked in the oven, not sure about the sausage. On Sunday it was packed which goes to show how desperate we are in North Andover for a good breakfast place. Lots of confusion with getting our food. Two trips to one counter on one side of the space and three trips to a counter on the other side. They call out the name that's on your credit card when something in your order is ready so I got to hear "Francis" yelled out across the room which hasn't happened to me since grade school. I was really hoping for a good experience but I really can't say that it was. They need a grill if they're going to do breakfast right and they need to think like a real restaurant/cafe and stage the food so that you get your meal all at once instead of piecemeal. Some of the in-house baked items are great but don't come here for a hot breakfast.

5 stars for bakery items, go elsewhere for lunch. At least the turkey was fresh carved and not gross deli meat, but would have been nice to have some on the sandwich! My wife and I ordered the pilgrim sandwich to take with us to the beach and had to go buy another lunch when we got here. The sandwich was mostly bread with a little turkey and a small lump of stuffing. Barely any cranberry. Very little taste and quite disappointing. The bakery items we got however were outstanding!

Can you say donut muffin? Yes!! Yes yes yes. I had a donut muffin and a delicious latte here on Friday and enjoyed every single morsel. It's across from the place I discovered for prenatal yoga and it's divine. I first found it while apartment hunting a year ago and had their lavender lemonade (yummy!!) and another snack. This week I was so excited to see where the yoga location was as its so close to good day cafe. I love this little local spot and can't wait for next week to come back and play!!

I can't say enough good things about my recent catering experience with Good Day Cafe. After doing some research online and from local friends, I decided to order hot and cold hor' doeurves from them for my soon to be sister-in-law's bridal shower. It was definitely the right decision. I worked with Kathy - she was so easy to talk to, super fast to get back to me, and easily put together the perfect menu for our 25 person gathering. My guests were beyond impressed with the spread we put out (mini beef knishes, deviled eggs, bruschetta crostini, asparagus wrapped in prosciutto, coconut chicken, stuffed mushrooms, and my absolute favorite, cucumber & Boursin tea sandwiches). Hands down I will be coming back again. Everything about this transaction was absolutely perfect. Thank you to you all for being a part of my party's success!

Went in for first time today and wanted to love it, but overall was not impressed. Love the atmosphere great set up and inviting, if only the manager (or owner) was welcoming. She seemed annoyed when I asked how long they had been open. Then when I ordered my espresso and oatmeal and asked the cashier if I could have berries instead of the other toppings, the manager snapped at the girl and said "we don't do that", as if I wasn't in the room. It was quite uncomfortable. I felt for the Cashier who was trying to provide customer service in the right way. The manager never put a smile on her face and truly seemed annoyed to be there having to wait on people. Food: Oatmeal was way overcooked and coffee was average. Disappointing to say the least.

North Andover's hidden gem of a cafe. I know people who have lived here for years and never visited! Latte was great and service was friendly.

I feel the items are over priced, also if you go in during the work day and you DON'T work for Converse they are incredibly rude to you! Good Day cafe needs to have an attitude adjustment!

Generally this place is okay, but on the pricy side for what you get. The lattes are good and so are the bagel sandwiches. Unfortunately, just had an experience last Sunday where I realized that this place just isn't worth it. Got a salad, it was very mediocre and bland. I didn't like the dressing so asked for balsamic vinaigrette instead. The dressing they gave me was frozen so I asked for something else. I got attitude when I told them it was frozen "we don't keep the dressing in the freezer" - just an FYI for them, dressing freezes in the fridge if the fridge is set too low or it's in the back... Anyways I get a new "balsamic vinaigrette" which is very dark and looks like just balsamic vinegar. But I give them the benefit of the doubt and try it at the table and it was straight balsamic. So back I go to the counter to explain that the dressing isn't right and I ask for real balsamic vinaigrette or my money back, because the salad is sub-par, service isn't good and I just want to get out of there. They give me an attitude about the dressing again and make me this horrible balsamic concoction. At that point, I was just over it and not willing to fight for my money back. Unfortunately, we had seen the owner (manager?) who is always very pleasant and helpful leave as we were arriving. I know this would not have happened if he was present, but it is was it is and I will no longer be a patron.

Catering is TOP NOTCH. The FOOD is ALWAYS fresh and delicious. I can't say enough GOOD things about Kathy and her staff. I often place orders at the last minute and even though I call or email at the most inopportune times, Kathy always helps me out and pulls my feet out of the fire and makes me look like I'm a superhero. I have not had the chance to dine at the cafe in person yet, but the CATERING is wonderful. The specialty sandwiches, salads, desserts (which are the BOMB) are always presented very professionally. I needed some holiday-themed cupcakes for a meeting at a moment's notice and they did such a GREAT job (and I'm a former cake shop owner/decorator, so I can spot a hack job a mile away) that I was PROUD to tell people where I got them. Kathy and Good Day Cafe is my GO-TO caterer. I can't see that changing. Many thanks to the staff over and over again. (hmmm.. wondering if a good review can score me a free Maple Bacon Muffin on her next delivery to my company.. yummmmmy..)

A little pricey but the food is good. Disappointed that my $8 sandwich didn't come with a pickle or a handful of chips. Parking can be tough and the staff appear indifferent.

  • Robin M.

Their salads have gone downhill. They used to be good, but clearly the owners have started skimping on ingredients. The Mill salad used to have lots of nice slices of apple and ample nuts and cheese. Now? Mostly lettuce! It's frustrating to pay $9+ for a container of lettuce.

DONUT MUFFIN WITH MAPLE BUTTERCREAM AND BACON TOPPING Realistically I think I need not say more to have drafted the most perfect review on yelp. Right? But seriously, these muffins are one of the most incredibly familiar yet just unique enough treats to keep me coming back. If you're not into the buttercream (in generally not but with maple bacon deliciousness I am willing to sacrifice), you can get just the donut muffin. They also serve sandwiches, which I have still yet to try. Service is friendly. Location is quiet, quant, and clean. I really have nothing bad to say here. Well, I guess the bad thing is they're walking distance to home. I had three of these muffins last week. I justify this by telling myself I walked there. ;)

This cafe has so much potential, but I can honestly say the only reason I have been as many times as I have are because of the location and the face that it is walking distance from where I live. It's Overpriced and the quality of food is not what you would expect given the name or atmosphere of the restaurant (false expectations). I'd love to see some fresh juices served rather than the fake sugar crap they currently have, better baked goods and some healthy alternatives. This cafe needs to take a lesson from sol bean cafe in Middleton ma. Get with the times- organic and local.

The food is delish! Prices are competitive. Atmosphere is fun but no wireless internet...kind of a let down. The girl at the the counter wasn't very friendly but ehh neither here nor there. I would go back it's a great place to meet a friend for coffee and treats!

Best coffee. ..been wanting to try this place for some time. Very comfortable atmosphere. ..good background music...great presentation of food on display. ....menu clear and easy to read. Very clean place. I got the yogurt parfait. .fresh and delicious. Wish there was more...just because it was so good...the amount offered is perfect. We split the bacon/maple muffin ...wow...really great idea...delicious! I'll be back to try more...looking forward to some delicious sounding sandwiches and salads.

Ordered catering (appetizers and dessert) through this cafe for a graduation party. When I picked up the food on the day of the party they forgot to include all of the desserts I had ordered and I did not realize this until I got home. Unfortunately, by this time the cafe had already closed. When I called the next day to speak with someone I never received an apology about the error. They were unsympathetic to the situation and the attitude of the manager came across as very rude and unprofessional. I was told to come in to the cafe to receive a cash refund because they could not apply it back to my credit card I had used to purchase the food. When I went in to get my refund the demeanor of the manager was the same, still no apology or explaination for the mistake. Very poor customer service in light of the situation. In terms of the food, it was essentially mediocre. Overpriced for what it was worth. Better places in the area to go to for catering.

This is a great little cafe. The interior is very inviting and not kitschy. Staff is always friendly. Let me start by saying that all of the food has been amazing. We've done breakfast sandwiches, all kinds of coffee beverages, and lunch sandwiches and it had been delicious and well-prepared from one end to the other. Lots of great one-off specials too! If you're in the area or anywhere reasonably close, it is totally with the visit!

A petite mom and pop shop with a wide selection of baked temptations, including their Phantom Gourmet-recognized Bacon Maple Donut Muffin. Yes, you read that correctly. This oversized muffin is better if eaten sideways on a plate by fork, in order to ensure the multi-flavor knockout combo contained therein. Eating it like a cupcake, it's too large to get all the tastes in one bite, so you either get a huge burst of salty OR a huge burst of sweet, rather than the likely-intended flavor mix. A more manageable size would make it portable-friendly (such as, oh, eating them on the sidelines of your kid's early soccer game). The maple frosting was creamy loveliness and, despite the, shall we say "donuffin's" proportion issues, it was worth trying. Four of us each had a quarter of this monster and felt that was plenty to sample this signature goodie. The Mocha Chocolate Donut Muffin was also quite enjoyable, a bit more cakey but it worked well. The cafe itself is a cute, converted brick mill space best suited for take-out rather than casual business meetings or writing marathons on your laptop. All in all, righteous support of an "unchained" coffee shop.

This place is really great with delicious breakfast foods and a very nice staff. I've been here a few times and found that with each trip the place gets better. Some menu items are a little overpriced, but most are very reasonable and everything we've ordered has been delicious. The famous bacon-donut-muffin was over the top and fun, but not something I'd get regularly (as the name should imply). The breakfast sandwiches on homemade croissants are awesome as are all of the pastries and the healthier fruit and yogurt options. The quiches are OK. I'd stick with the more standard breakfast items and splurge on the pastries. All around, this is a great place to grab take-out or hang around and eat / talk - very friendly, fun, nice atmosphere, family friendly, super nice staff, etc.

As promised, gave em' over a year to get it together. Still a chaotic mess. Patrons piling up waiting for their breakfast fare. But hey, I got my "double espresso"...almost like I ordered it. See photo.

I disagree with the above Yelpers regarding GDC catering. Kathy was a great help to me during a business meeting that I hosted at my office. She suggested a menu that worked and offered vegetarian options. She arrived on time, set up nicely and the food was excellent. For food of this quality the price was right. I would use them again for sure.

I saw a post from Good Day Cafe on Facebook asking customers to write a Yelp review so even though I had been putting it off, I decided to go ahead. I want to like this place a lot more, I really do, but every time I decide to give it another go, it misses the mark. Right from when it first opened, I was excited because the place has all the things I look for: good coffee, a creative menu with sandwiches, soups, and quiches, and an atmosphere where I can head by myself and get a meal while I read a book. But there have been issues every time I go. First, the staff seem friendly, but their remoteness and failure to make you feel welcome is a drawback. I have been there six times and each time my order has been wrong, and I order straight off the menu with no changes asked for. Wrong filling in my sandwich, wrong type of coffee, untoasted when I wanted toasted, the wrong type of bread...you get the drift. The food tastes good, but when it has to be remade every time you go there, there is a problem. The thing that bothered me the most is the place is near empty when I visit so I can't even rationalize that a mistake was made because it was very busy. Good Day Cafe is a miss for me. I gave it every chance to become my go to place, but I'm finally giving it a pass.

This place was really bad. REALLY bad. I went a few months ago during lunch (although it was not busy) and the lady at the counter was completely annoyed that I didn't know what I wanted. I was trying to read through the sandwiches. There was no one behind me. I finally decided on something I didn't really want and asked if they could put it on different bread and she just glared at me, sighed and huffed. I felt the need to apologize for being a customer there. The sandwich was OK. The atmosphere was great and I really wish the service and food had been better. Kids meals were overpriced. Iced tea was overpriced. I just can't imagine ever going back. Ever. On a positive note, I recently tried "Baked O So Good" and thought it was amazing for about the same prices. They use all natural meats and have a much wider selection of bakery items. The staff there is super friendly and helpful. I would not try Good Day- it will make not make your day.

The food is decent but overpriced and generally unhealthy food options. They seem very frugal and changed the bagels from what they used to be Which were really good and opted for very hard bland bagels one would assume over the cost. The coffee tastes pretty good but they are expensive and small sizes. They also fill the iced coffee to the top with ice which is unheard of leaving the customer with hardly any coffee. Starbucks, Dunkins, Plum island coffee etc rarely even use a quarter of the cup filled with ice unless asked for so this is clearly them trying to save a few pennies. Being located near a working community many at converse like myself, would love the ability to use wifi but it is sadly absent from a place catering to the amenities of those who have it at almost any establishment in the area. While most of the food are quite solid you can feel as if you are packing calories just from looking at the food offered while in line. More healthy options would help greatly!

Still really enjoy this place. Its a great place to chat with friends or to read a book while enjoying breakfast/brunch/lunch. They are friendly, helpful & accommodating. They do have soy milk as an option for your coffee (yay!). I did not notice if almond milk was an option or not... Coffee is always pretty smooth. I thoroughly enjoyed my bagel with hummus and tomato. One observation: the stainless steel travel mugs are nice looking, but are lined with plastic (and are not labeled BPA-free...) not for me. The ceramic desk mugs are very nice though. I wish I worked closer, but alas I will continue to visit when my schedule permits.

  • Elizabeth H.

Bland coffee, mediocre food and chaotic vibe. The only thing the Good Day Cafe has going for it is that there isn't much competition in its niche in the North Andover area. Maybe the catering is decent? Don't know. But the Cafe itself is overpriced and under-satisfying.

Good day café is a great spot to stop in for a delicious snack or lunch. When your done enjoying your fantastic food be sure to head next door to the exhibit on the generators that power the mills! If your just going in for a good cup of of joe or if you are going in for a full on lunch the Good day café is a perfect choice.

Wanted to try a new cafe for coffee and some treats, found this place on Yelp. Iced coffee is very good, no bitter after taste. Husband ordered a house blend hot coffee but was really acidic, he is going to make sure he asks what the blends are next time to see what else they have. He got an everything bagel with hummus, bagel was very fresh. I saw the reviews for their homemade english muffins so I got a breakfast sandwich on that. They use real eggs which is great, not premade/processed disks of egg product. The bread was interesting looking when I got it, sliced bread from a loaf but airy and good texture. I really enjoyed it. It would be amazing with peanut butter, wonder if they have that. We saw all the baked goodies that looked really nice, scones were pretty, mini coffee blueberry tarts, and donut muffins were enticing. Look forward to another visit to try more.

If I could give this place 3 1/2 stars I would... But I can't, so 3 stars it is. I love the atmosphere of the place. It's open & bright with plenty of seating and they play a good variety of music. The cafe latte and the flour-less peanut butter chocolate chip cookie that I had was delicious. The service was okay. Not bad, but not great... I sensed a bit of attitude from the lady at the register, as if my presence was bothering her . But here is the big downfall for ME, they don't have wifi! And I am one of those people who loves to sit in a cafe and do my work or study (yes, I need the internet for this) and unfortunately, I can't do that here. On the other hand, if you are coming here with another human then it's a great place to socialize over a cup of joe. Nonetheless, I will be back!

My family and I often go to the Good Day Café for breakfast on Sunday mornings. We live in the area and walk over for yummy pastries. My husband loves the cinnamon rolls and popovers that they have every weekend and I struggle to choose between the stuffed croissants and the lox and cream cheese on bagels. Our girls love the Egg Sandwiches and the weekend egg special- a scrambled egg and avocado wrap. They use fresh bagels from Iggy's bakery- I know they're fresh because when we get there early enough, sometimes the bagels haven't even arrived. The owners are often in on the weekends which is nice to see. They seem to really like their customers- I've seen them take the time to sit down with customers while they eat breakfast. The girls behind the counter are also very friendly and professional. A couple seem like they are high school or college aged but still very interested in making sure that the customers have a positive experience. My only complaint would be the prices of some of the drinks. I'm a sucker for a hazelnut iced latte in the summer, but when I order a large, I end up paying over $4.00 because of the flavor shot. It's a great family run coffee shop and I'm glad to have it down the street!

I LOVE this place. In December my husband and I moved right up the street, and when I saw the Good Day Cafe I couldn't wait to check it out, it looked so cute and I can walk from my house! Since then I've been MANY times and tried many different things that they offer. First off, their lattes are fabulous. I'm a real sucker for different flavored syrups and they have plenty, as well as a monthly latte special, which are always delicious. They also have soy milk and I don't believe they charge extra for it which I also greatly appreciate. As for the food, it is delicious! I had about a month long love affair with their popovers, which are difficult to find around here. I was so excited when I saw that they have them (not every day, but often), and they are AMAZING. They also have delicious muffins, bagels, croissants, you name it. I've only eaten lunch there once but when I did I got the sandwich with the turkey and stuffing, one of my favorites and also one that I am picky about, and it was awesome too. The staff there is always super friendly, even when it's crazy busy. They are always attentive, get your order right, and if it's not busy they'll bring my coffee over to me when it's ready, which is a nice touch and always appreciated. I really can't say enough good things about Good Day, they're great!

I have given this place multiple tries with different friends and I have been truly disappointed. While this little mom and pop does have some nice offerings in terms of baked goods and sandwich selections, the prices are not justified. My bf and I went there for breakfast and paid $20 some for our meal. I could get a real breakfast for that price! This is just a cafe. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back.

Excellent breakfast sandwiches, my son and I got our sandwiches on their homemade English muffin bread, it's a must have. Great atmosphere, comfortable and relaxed. This is our first time here and I can guarantee it will not be our last. Also got their maple bacon donut muffin to go.

Been here several times, and unfortunately each time like it a bit less. The specialty muffins are good, but overpriced. Last time here I got the quiche. It took an incredibly long time for it to be served (they reheat it before serving), but when it came it was only lukewarm, so I don't understand the delay. The staff is "quirky friendly"....hard to articulate what's wrong with the service/environment, but there is a piece missing that's keeping me from returning any time soon.

Had a Groupon and looked forward to trying place out. Disappointed to say the least. Cafe empty but still got my order wrong. Ordered turkey club and received BLT. Ate it anyway, but would not go back for it. Hardly any lettuce on it. Baked goods mediocre.

Had a wicked craving for one of their lox and cream cheese bagels. Paired it with a dark roast and the most delicious pastry I think I've ever had. Can't remember what they called it, even though I asked. It was round, flaky and buttery and looked like phyllo dough in a pattern on top. Delish! Ask them what they recommend. They won't steer you wrong!

We love this place. This is a regular go-to for me, my wife, and my two little girls on a Saturday or Sunday morning. It can be hard to get a table, but it's well worth it. They have great fresh baked goods, a small menu of breakfast sandwiches (they have a bigger lunch menu), and a good espresso bar. The staff are friendly, and the owner has come out more than a few times and brought cupcake "samples" out for my little ones. It's really nice to have such a gem in North Andover.

The vibe is incredible and then when you take your first bite of anything from a flourless peanut butter cookie to their many different salads you are hooked. I proudly bring my clients for coffee and deliver their coffee cakes with a smile. It is a local gem that never fails to exceed my expectations! J'adore!!!

You can find my husband and me at Good Day Cafe just about every weekend we are in town. Our favorite is the breakfast egg sandwich which the wonderful servers make to our specifications. From the bakery, we usually choose the 'morning glory' muffin. the coffee is organic and fabulous too. This time of the year we get the bonus of sitting outside and enjoying the breeze. Good Day Cafe is the perfect neighborhood cafe where 'people know your name'.

Good Day Cafe is a cute little place to grab a quick lunch or breakfast, although my wife and I generally only visit for breakfast. I highly recommend the donut muffin if you're not too much of a health nut. Also, I really enjoy their English muffin bread - I usually get my breakfast sandwich on the bread. We've been to the cafe a few times and always find the staff to be pleasant. If you're in the area it's worth a visit.

Although I usually frequent this location on weekends, I decided to go for lunch mid week. Although it was exactly noon and it was busy, everything seemed disorganized and chaotic. I really loved that they had grab and go items prepped, including salads, American chop suey and cold thai noodles (which were very tasty by the way), but the overall atmosphere was different that the weekends- even when they are busy/rushed. It seemed like the staff were getting in each others' way and just general confusion. Food/coffee was still good, but I think I'll stick to visiting on weekends from now on.

Great little spot. The everything bagel was fantastic.. crispy and not too dough-y. The coffee was GREAT. Nice and strong. And the quiche was amazing. My only wish is that you could have sit down service, but otherwise, love it!

My husband and I stopped by here this past weekend (For the first time) after a friend in RI heard they had a Maple Bacon Donut Muffin. We were sent to pick some up on our way to RI. We had a difficult finding, as we don't spend a lot of time in that area. We arrived around 11:00 am on Saturday morning and all of the tables were filled. The other patrons seemed to be enjoying themselves and it was a pleasant atmosphere. We were disappointed to see their was only one of the Maple Bacon Donut Muffins left. When it was our turn at the register, I attempted to ask the cashier if they would be making anymore. In the middle of my question, she RUDELY turned to another staff member (who RUDELY interrupted me) and yelled a response to her. I had to repeat my question. She politely said no and then an older woman came over and basically scolded me to call ahead if I need a lot of muffins (I was ordering FOUR). Okay..... So we purchased the one muffin and asked to buy two Red Velvet Cupcakes as well. The cashier apparently wasn't listening to me and gave us Red Velvet Whoopie Pies instead. At this point I was so frustrated that I took them, paid and got the hell out of there. I thought their prices were reasonable and their menu was tempting. We would like to go back and try something other than baked items. My husband enjoyed the Maple Bacon Donut Muffin, I did not. We also didn't like their whoopie pies. The filling/frosting tasted odd and we did not enjoy it.. they were thrown out. I am still willing to give this place another chance though~!

Food is good & I like the options. However it's small, loud & busy. It's not relaxing at all if you're looking for a place to grab breakfast on a Sunday morning without the kids to relax, eat, and perhaps read a book. If you're looking for a joint for a quick coffee & snack -- you've got it here. If you're looking for relaxing and always having a place to sit its not.

I've had the muffins a couple of times and, if you like high quality baked goods muffins just simply don't get better than those at the Good Day Cafe. I have had the eggnog, gingerbread, donut, and - my personal favorite - the maple bacon donut muffin. I admittedly have a sweet tooth, but think cupcake on this one - donut batter baked as a muffin, topped with a generous amount of maple frosting and topped with coarsly chopped bacon. With a good cup of coffee it will be a memorable treat. I'm looking forward to exploring more of the menu in the future!

I admit I wasn't crazy about the idea of a coffeeshop on High Street. I thought the parking and traffic and clutter would be a pain for me, a local resident. Thankfully, I was mistaken! The Good: First, the staff of this cafe is really a shining star. They learn your order and your name fast. They are friendly, attentive, and will even walk your drink to your table. The first time they did this for me, I was shocked. I guess not everyplace is like Starbuck's in a good way! The space around the cafe is really nice; there is a mini machine museum in the building that is a great spot to hang after you are done with your coffee. Machine geeks will love the huge turbine engine parts just steps away from the Good Day Cafe. The food is good. The coffee/tea/choices are good. The even have some really nice sandwhiches. The Bad: It's a little pricier than Dunkin' or Starbuck's. It's bad for my wallet. The Ugly: My only complaint is no wifi. But maybe I should unplug once in a while, right?

I used to work across the street from the Good Day Cafe. When I heard an organic cafe was opening across the street, I was excited to have a place for good coffee that's walking distance to the office. Like any new place, I usually give them the benefit of the doubt before making a judgement. There are a few things I liked about the Good Day cafe: close distance to where I worked, staff were extremely friendly and their egg bagel was legit. Unfortunately, they burnt my over priced bagel every time I was there. I probably ordered their Breakfast egg sandwich on an egg bagel twice a week but the bagel was burnt all the time. It also drove me crazy to smell like burnt bacon if you stand in there for more than two minutes. Their ventilation system probably doesn't work. Lastly, I couldn't deal with the wait. I would call ahead for my egg sandwich and they would say its ready in 15 minutes, but when I got there to pick it up, it's still not ready and by that point, I smell like burnt bacon. It's funny to talk about it now but not when you're running into a meeting with your hair smelling like bacon and the smell stays on your hair and clothes all day. I will miss the nice staff but not their food or beverages.

Stumbled here after breakfast looking for a caffeine fix. Monday morning, not very busy. The interior is super cute but I am a sucker for exposed brick anything...I'll automatically like it. If I lived closer to Andover, I swear I would be here every day! They cold-brew their iced coffee which makes it incredible. Drinking other iced (like DD, Starbucks) after drinking cold brewed ruins it for you, RUINS it. This place has excellent iced coffee, but I did not try it hot. I love pumpkin so I got it with pumpkin spice, it was excellent! We also split a half moon cupcake which was pretty good. They have a 'treat of the month' and many other interesting creations...I saw a bacon maple confection of some sort...really creative! Will definitely be back when I am in the area.

I moved to East Mill Lofts about 1.5 yrs ago. I was pretty excited when I saw there was a little local cafe in the building. My boyfriend and I tried the coffee twice and didn't like it. We are vegans and we figured a place like that would also have soy milk as an option to go with the coffees but they don't. They don't have any vegan or gluten free options either. They do have salads and bread (not sure if their toast/ english muffin is vegan) But, certainly no muffins, cakes, soups etc If you are vegan or have a gluten allergy or both like me- This isn't the small local place for you. Starbucks has soy milk, they have GF/ vegan nut bars. Surprised this place wouldn't.. The people working there are nice though.

I have been going to the Good Day Cafe for there excellent cold brew ice coffee a couple times each week , so finally decided to try one of there sandwiches. I opted for the pilgrim, which ended up being 2 thin slices of turkey(deli meat) with cranberry sauce on untoasted bread. I was quite underwelmed. The iced latte is not as stong as the ice coffee. Though the maple bacon donut muffin is a real treat.

We just moved right around the corner from GDC, and we enjoy bringing our seven-month-old daughter here on weekend mornings. The coffee is good and the food is yummy. I'm taking off one star for the service--we came here for breakfast last weekend and I ordered a breakfast sandwich, while my husband ordered a slice of quiche. There was about a fifteen-minute lag between when I received my order and when my husband received his. Also, other reviewers are right that the prices are high for what you get.

I admit, I eat here way to often for my budget. That has nothing to do with the Cafe itself, but it means that I have tried a fair amount of the menu by now. That said, I've only sampled the lunch menu. I've never been in for breakfast, coffee or the bakery selection, so this review is only based on my lunchtime experience. What I love about the Cafe is that the quality of the food has always been great, and they focus on serving natural and in some cases organic foods. I don't get wilty lettuce on my sandwich, the fruit and breads are always fresh, the egg salad is made with freshly-boiled eggs and just the right amount of mayo....(okay that part is personal preference, but you catch my drift!). I also like that there are a few solid vegetarian options such as an egg salad sandwich (or egg salad as a topping for salad), a really good Mediterranean wrap with hummus, and a grilled cheese with apple that's really yummy. There are always great seasonal specials as well - I ate more than my fair share of lobster rolls this summer! And I haven't had a soup yet that I didn't really enjoy (two of my favorites are the tomato and the lentil - YUM!). I've also been impressed with the friendliness of everyone who works at the Cafe, and their willingness to serve their customers. For example they all know my name (and many, many other customers' names), know that I don't need utensils with my to-go orders, make sure they let me know if there is an ingredient I might be wary of in something (I'm pregnant and am avoiding unpasteurized cheese, for example) and so on. That's a really nice touch that can really perk up my day! So what's the catch? There must be a reason this is 4 stars and not 5. That is true. My 2 issues, which are obviously not big enough to keep me from frequenting the Cafe on the reg, are: 1. I think the prices of the salads (which I would otherwise eat more of) are high for the amount of food you get and because they are made with only romaine lettuce. I'd love to be able to get a slightly larger, meal-sized portion with more toppings and mixed greens and/or baby spinach. 2. When it's busy, the wait is really long. And it's busy a lot! (A good thing, too, I suppose!) Now, one of these days I'll try breakfast.....

My last visit to Good Day just took place. I agree with David L. Plenty of staff on hand at this place, but that doesn't mean good OR fast service. Tough to get the attention, never mind a smile out of the behind the counter prep help. Add to it that the offerings are good but over-priced. They just priced me out of another visit with a turkey club sandwich and bag of chips which ran $10.58. Ridiculous. The thing isn't stacked to the heavens or even served on a plate, no pickle included and unbeknownst to me the slice of swiss was an additional $1.50. My prior visit was for a bagel with cream cheese weeks ago. It took, and I do not exaggerate, 4 minutes for the spreading of the cream cheese on the bagel. That does not include the wait time to get the order to the bagel girl, the bagel in the toaster, the bagel picked up from the toaster, and finally the wrapping of said bagel. I'm frustrated every time I leave, so I won't enter again. And I obviously won't recommend.

If you want to feel completely ripped off and unsatisfied, please feel free to visit Good Day Café. I work across the street and end up going there because it is convenient, but every time I talk myself back into giving it another try, I am regretfully disappointed. It is one of those places you really want to like. It has a great atmosphere, the staff is decently nice, but the food is only 'okay' and definitely not worth the $20 you will spend on a sandwich and a drink. They also don't offer small drinks (so you HAVE to pay for a medium or large), and for all of you true New Englanders out there that only drink Iced Coffees: count on paying extra for an iced drink versus a hot one (aka: $2.50 for a hot macchiato (+0.55 if you want a flavor) vs. $3.25 for a iced one (and no, the cup isn't bigger but they do fill it with lots of ice). If you want a salad or sandwich, don't bother trying to get it made with or without the ingredients listed - they will get it wrong every single time. And if you get a bagel, it will be burned... So anyways, I wouldn't exactly suggest going to not-so-Good Day Café. And if you are hungry for lunch and in the area - go to Jaime's next door - at least there you can get your lunch card punched and get a free meal every 5 lunches you buy (and you will spend the same amount of money with sides/they will get your order right).

Because I work across the street, I get to take advantage of this place a lot. After working my way through the items on the standard menu, I now find myself usually choosing one of their daily specials. The stuffed tuscan breads are my favorite, but I appreciate the variety of the sandwich specials and soups. The ingredients are high quality, the coffee is great (especially the iced coffee) and the bakery items (on those days when I can't resist) are always delicious! it took them awhile to work out the kinks - the speed and quality of service is vastly improved from when they first opened - and I love the fact that they all know and remember my name and greet me personally every time. That's tough to find these days, it seems.

I work in the area so I was happy to see a fresh, healthier, more home style option for lunch in an area surrounded by sub shops. I go here often for lunch but have never tried breakfast or any desserts from the case. The food is excellent, the quality is great, they use all real, in-house roasted meats so none of that slimy deli meat that sub shops use. There has never been any doubt as to the freshness or quality of any food I have purchased there. The selection of sandwiches is good too, from classic stuff to a bit more exotic items with ingredients you might not normally think to have in a sandwich. Some downsides- The salads are pretty good, although I find myself a bit disappointed with the regular cafe salad. It's basically 3/4 romaine lettuce, a few cherry tomatoes and a couple of sliced cucumbers. Add chicken to it to beef it up a bit which helps, but then you're getting into a bit of a pricy range for just a plain ol' salad. So, that's a good segue to the next downside - it's pricy here. Most sandwiches run between $7-10 before you've added a drink or chips. A regular cafe salad plus chicken is close to $9 I think. I'm one of those people that doesn't mind spending a little extra for the quality, but if you're watching your budget, that's definitely something to consider. Next, be careful about the crazy lunchtime hour. This place is popular (which is good, of course) but be prepared to wait a while for your food during high traffic times like 12-1:30. The staff always looks a bit frenzied during this time so I try to stop in before or after the rush.

I love this place. The food is delicious farm to table fare. We have always had good service with friendly staff. The seats could be more comfortable. All in all, this is a special spot for yummy fresh food.

Food: Over-priced. Taste is fairly okay. Value: Not much for my money. The salad in particular are way over priced. You don't get very much besides romaine lettuce - I expect more out of a $7 salad. It's $3 to add chicken to a salad. Are you kidding me? I can buy a pack of 4 chicken breasts commercially for $5. All you put on is 1 small breast of chicken. So if I want chicken on my salad it costs $10 now for a salad. At lunch? Noooooooo thanks. Customer Service: I'll get back to you when they get some. For now I feel like they're not very friendly and slow to get to you. Kitchen: They need to be more organized and communicative. Maybe then things won't be so slow.

Found my way here thru a friend who gifted me with pumpkin whoopie pies... wow, what a treat! I've had lunch here (to go) twice and have been wonderfully surprised both times. My first lunch was their chicken salad on a 7 grain bread. The chicken salad was flavorful and not covered with mayo. My 2nd lunch was even better ... the southwestern pork with a spicy mayo. The pork was sliced from a roast with what I thought was a mango-like spread. It had a "kick" but wasn't spicy, which was totally fine with me as I'm not a fan of spicy food. I couldn't resist the whoopie pies calling out my name so I had the red velvet whoopie pie ... though good, not as good as the pumpkin ones which I believe may be seasonal. Service is friendly and quick. The only downside is finding available parking near the eatery but parking is available in a lot towards the back of the building. A great stop!

Good Day Cafe serves my favorite brand of coffee, Jim's Beans Organic. I work nearby so "bring your own mug" for $1 coffee by 10am is the best. They have great sandwiches and specias but it does get very busy during lunch. Call ahead to place your order if you don't have time to wait, it's worth it.

My wife and I are regulars for Sunday morning breakfast at "The Good Day". We love so many things about it. The food is always very fresh, well prepared and the atmosphere is warm an inviting. I prefer it to any of the local bagel places for breakfast. The soups are wonderful - try Michele's chowda on Fridays made with sweet baby clams - to die for! Be patient, sometimes the service can be a bit slow, but we enjoy the pace and go there to relax and savor the relaxing atmosphere.

One of my favorite weekend activities is to go for a walk up to Good Day. I've been going here for about a year so I feel I can finally write a review. The food here is delicious. You will pay a premium for fresh baked goodies but it's worth it. The staff is friendly and will bring your meal to you on the patio or inside if it needs to be cooked or heated. Their pastry is buttery and flaky and adds an additional layer of amazing to the already rich quiche. No dieters here, expect to leave feeling full and slightly guilty if you opt for something out of the bakery case. Check it out if you haven't been, you will not regret it!

The area needed a place for breakfast and lunch- the cafe itself is warm and inviting- and always thriving with activity. Theres a selection of breads, bagels, pastries, cookies, muffins, sandwiches- they make everything right there! (and they always have samples for you to try!) The drinks are awesome - cidar, egg nog, coffee, etc and they have a case of cold drinks that are unlike anything I have seen! (Try the lavendar sparkling water! Yum!) I have had the chicken noodle soup, tuna sandwich, chicken sandwich and a seven layer bar- all have been yummy. I would give a 5 star review yet know that when you come here- despite the army in the kitchen- the line cooks are on the slow side. I think this is because they are new.. hopefully they accomodate the lunch rush better. But all in all an awesome place to sit and gab with a friend and enjoy yummy food! Oh.. and they have items to purchase- think teas, honey, gift sets, pastas, etc. A little retail therapy never hurt! I keep going back and have no plans of stopping!

I love the Good Day Cafe. The atmosphere is delightful and warm. The service has been great for me although I have not been in during a busy time of day. I have only been in for baked goods and coffee and I will say both have been fantastic! On the downside, I will agree with other reviewers that the prices are too high and they should consider lowering them a bit. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased to have such a great place right down the street from my house.

Best thing I can say about it is that it was bright and clean.. food was just awful. dry cold toasted bread, cold greasy bacon and come on one slice of tomato!! no side, not even a pickle!! overpriced.... so sorry bad enough not to give it another chance.. they should hurry and make changes ,,

Good coffee, good bagel but super messy and took a while to get. I have a feeling the the 2 girls working at the counter don't have any prior experience working at a busy coffee shop. Instead of one girl taking your order and other putting the order together, they are both running around making orders and having people wait at the counter in line to pay.Not very efficient. Also we were the only people who's order they called out for us to get, everyone else was brought out to their table...not sure why.

I work across the street and there weren't many places to eat in the area so I was excited to see a sandwich place open up that differed from the sub and pizza shops in the area. I've been in on multiple occasions and have never been completely satisfied when I left. I gave them the the benefit of the doubt at first, since they were new and you sometimes have to work out kinks, but now its just ridiculous--nothing is ever right. How hard is it to make a sandwich in less then 10 minutes? I mind as well go to the store, get the ingredients and make it myself in the amount of time I'm waiting. Why can you NEVER remember to toast the bread when I ask? Why does it cost me almost $13 to get a sandwich (with no sides, and seriously...$1.50 for cheese to be added to a sandwich?)? And lastly, its great how nice everyone is, but next time I don't want a cookie as a sorry, I want my sandwich made correctly. Overall the food is good, if you have the patience to wait over 20 minutes to get a sandwich (even sometimes toast in the morning...). They need to work on their front-of-house. Your staff has obviously never worked in a fast-paced lunch environment...its killing your business. Verdit: Even though it has the potential to be convenient for me, I'd rather go out of my way. Not worth the headache.

Food was excellent! Iced coffee very tasty, as was the grilled cheese on sour dough (grilled with apple slices in the sandwich - yum). Service was so-so. Employees seemed stressed and were pushy and not friendly...as if they were each having a bad day - kind of funny given the name of the place.

A good friend recommended Good Day Café - in fact, she raved about it. Having never been misguided by this friend before, we decided to check it out. It is an absolute gem!!! A quaint spot set in the amazing old mill building in North Andover, it is simply charming and the service could not be better. And the food? Tremendous. Everything they serve is freshly made...and fantastic. We ordered two sandwiches - a chicken salad in a Syrian wrap and 'The Pilgrim,' sliced turkey with lettuce, stuffing and cranberry compote served on 7 grain bread. The chicken salad was delicious (not too much mayo) and generous BUT, a special nod to the turkey. FANTASTIC!!! We were so taken with the food we brought home a freshly-made, still steaming Stuffed Tuscan bread with cheese, tomato, and broccoli for dinner. Again, out of this world. We're already planning our next visit to try their most interesting breakfast menu!

Food is good, and pretty creative for a surburban bakery. Would give it 5 stars if it weren't for a really big drawback- price. Their prices are crazy for what the offering is. I just paid $9 for convenient store-looking salad with 4 pieces of chicken and 4 mini-mandarin orange slices- from a counter in North Andover. I work close by, and go about once a week, for a lack of options. I would go much more if the prices were brought inline, and many others I know feel the same, as there are some things on the menu I really enjoy.
